Interesting...

I find it very interesting that Rick Morano's resume can be found on the popular professional network Linked In. In his profile Rick says to contact him for career opportunities. See for yourself. Follow the link or I've posted it here for you. Rick spends more time in the band office than any other employee and can often be seen working Saturdays or Sundays, his brand new red pickup parked at the band office. What's he doing in there with all that access to Rama's financials? And how come now, he's put it out there in the public domain that he can be contacted for career opportunities? The same goes for Rob Furlonger, the supposed Economic Development Manager. If these two grossly over paid senior employees are 'open' to finding work elsewhere, you have to honestly ask yourself what they know, that we don't. When a ship is sinking, the rats abandon. Or maybe that's just pure speculation on my part, but I invite you to think about it....

  1. These guys were hired to boost the "bottom line" ie make cash for Rama and stakeholders.

They weren't hired to be friends or give a shit about the social problems and impacts of greed lol

it says a lot about who hired them doesn't it?

  4. @ CEO: that's right! and that's the whole point...if money is the bottom line (and NOT community well being or RELATIONSHIP healing within the community) then we have a major problem. You can't serve 2 masters....external stakeholders AND the people...that's where lawyers come in: Lawyers make sure those with financial interest get protected while the people suffer.

So while you are cleaning house, get rid of those legalistic parasites that have infiltrated the community...they undermine cultural and relational well being.

    They gotta go ASAP.

  5. In order for this community to heal we must get rid of them all, Lawyers we dont need CEO, Band Manager, c&C they all need to be replaced . The waste must stop and we need to look after are people. Casino rama has had its day. Our children and youth need are help they can act like theres no drug problems here but we no better, and we need to get are people talking again. Piss on all this red tape and bull shit its got to stop.

  6. there are no "confidentiality agreements" inscribed on the hearts of the people. People can say what they need to say..yes, the power heads will try and scare you, try and slap u with lawsuits if you speak truth that pisses their stakeholders off.

Remember this: If you work as a councilor or chief, or an exec or lawyer...your loyalties are quite divided. It's about the bottom line and maintaining control of the people, so business as usual can go on. Don't listen to empty rhetoric and pre-election speeches, follow your heart, see the truth, make connections to the larger picture so you can see what mess the reserve has got itself into! See it all, and tell it loud!

and start a paper journal/news wire online like this and in paper...get it out there! call it "The voice of______" ?????

  7. When l worked for the Band, l was told by someone (cant recall who) that when the higher ups (such as CEO, Lawyers) start looking for work elsewhere, then that means the Band is in financial trouble. It makes sense that this is happening because we cant sustain the (wages in the) community when there is no development. The C&C's past and present (since Casino) have made decisions that bind us to certain things. And the casino has had its day...the Chief said the 2011 casino agreement provides 30 million annually and that is not true. I asked the CEO this question about 2 months ago.

And, l am not defending the CEO, but l will share that as a former employee, l am aware that he has advised C&C, over the past maybe 5 years, to trim budgets, but they dont. As an example, they did take a 10% pay cut but l also understand that when they did this, they inreased their monthly travel. Honestly, who needs $600 a month to travel within the community? Its a money grab!

Another year is passing...I wonder what their travel and salaries are now?

Finance meeting is scheduled for March 8th, evening, so if you're concerned about Rama's future, make plans to attend this meeting. This is the meeting we should have had in the late summer/fall 2011 when the 2010/11 (April to March) year end audit was completed.

    Hope to see you there!
