CULTURE

Ok what started out as was a conversation about a News  letter has led to a lot of comments about culture,I would like to see more done, but i feel in order for are children to learn we must live it everyday and we are not. We base are culture on the land   Mother Earth , and  how we respect every thing she has to offer, We used the land a nd every thing in are daily life, When was the last time you show your children how to use the trees, the plants to fish or hunt to make a fire or to pray and give thanks for mothers earths gifts,  When was the last time you walked in the bush with your child? or visit and Elder taking them to listen and learn . do they no how to skin an animal or snare a rabbit , spear a fish,  Plant a garden pick berries.  Build a shelter,  Alot of people do not practise  are culture so how will are children no . We all must do more and we can if given the chance .  We have have too. Cheryle Snache

  2. That is well said. Miigwetch.

The only thing of all those anonymous people who feel it neccessary to critisize everything gotta realize that Culture, I prefer to call it the Anishinabe ways, is everyones responsibility. What are they doing to change this. Sitting by the wayside complaining will not help the situation....its their responsibility to.

The only other thing that bothers me about some of the comments here is those who choose to be Anonymous, which really don't give their comments any real credibility. No reason to hide, or be ashamed of who you are. For myself, I have no way of knowing who they are, where they from or anything.

I like Cheryl's comments about the land. All native people were originally put here to be Keepers of the Land and care for her. Thats just our way.

As Anishinabe people we should all engage in these discussions and not be afraid to do so.

  3. sad. now the discrimination begins. undermining and control. again.

    1. You are condemning "anonymous" comments as "sounding off" or "just venting" and having "no credibility" yet it is a person's right and option provided to remain private. So I guess THEIR votes and voices don't matter eh? Sounds a lot like what a lot of people are AGAINST in this very community!

Everyone vents and bitches. All of you have in one post or another. Yet you jump on "anonymous" ...why?

There are good reasons to remain anonymous, as some of you mentioned yourselves: such as fear of retaliation from the powers that be, job loss or judgment.

Its a choice. Millions of people online comment this way...but if you want to start another exclusionary process...go ahead...it only reflects a desire to control and shoot down opinions you don't agree with, just like you say is being done to YOUR OPINIONS by your leaders. C'mon now people your starting censor and condemn, youre getting caught up in ideology and

you're starting to talk like the leaders you are endlessly condemning!

  5. That is such a cheap shot. Descrimination, really, are you frigging kidding. That is so typically thrown around now adays and you better look up the definition of Discrimination, you clearly confused on its meaning.

You want to vent, bitch, sound off or what ever, leave that somewhere on the internet. This is a form for the Chippewas of Rama to discuss the community and its issues. I don't give a shit about the millions you speak of online. This is for Rama.

Just in case you haven't noticed, this Blog Form is NOT controlled by Rama Chief and Council. This Blog is by the People, this is the powers that be. There is a big difference and no need to remain anonymous, unless you're not from Rama. You frigging disillusioned.

Being anonymous shows that you afraid of who you are. There is no way to verify who you are....jeez you can be from anywhere for all we know. Not from Rama unless you can prove this here and to the community.

I believe everyone would welcome your input, your venting, your concerns, just as long as it provides good discussion for Rama. Have the strength, the guts to log on, have your say. Everyone has a say. If you are really from Rama, you will do so.

As it stands right now, your a coward and still no credibility.

  6. Ok, this already getting out of hand. If you's have something to say, say it with out fear and whats on your mine. Just bring good discussion with yeas.

Always speak your mind but do it in a good way. There is no discrimination going on here unless you bring it here.
