To replace our cultural ways of harvesting? hhmmm, doubtful. One net setting gives me enough fish to feed a family for months. A few hours of my life, no big deal. Fresh fish, sustainable as well. Grocery store? ya gotta pay for gas,food and shop. Same amount of time that it takes to net but mine is free and I get to be in the sun. It is up to you to decide what is better.
But remember, if we don't practice our ways and connect to the land, We are no different from any other nation.
When i saw this i thought abot the Youth and what there answer was when they were asked what from of cultural activity that they would like to have in there community, They said Hunting, Trapping, Fishing , Info from Rama Community Visioning 2004. cheryle snache
