I don't work in the community, I don't hear the ins and outs and everyday rumblings, but I did hear that the layoffs have begun. I'd really like to hear the truth and not just hear say. I'd like to hear from those people that got laid off and what your thoughts are. And I'd really like to hear from those that have had enough of this bullshit leadership and bullshit 'economic development' in Rama.

Funny how no one has responded. Perhaps none of those laid off have access/knowledge about the Blog.
ReplyDeleteI think people are in shock, because how would the average Joe know any different. The same group of people continue to attend mtgs, the Chief (as she has said a number of times) assumes most are satisfied since they dont need to attend mtgs, and the same group continues to discuss the shortcomings in Rama. And the average Joe's pay no heed. And we (l include myself in this group) are looked at as being unhappy, disgruntled, and rocking the boat.
As we can plainly see, there is no economic development here in Rama although we have a few employees who work in this field.
Yes, it would be good to hear from someone who is "in the know", but these persons probably had to sign a form forbiding any talk about what happened.
Do we even know who got laid off and from what departments? I heard the property manager was one and several from that department but haven't heard about anyone else.
DeleteI heard 28 people lost their jobs and yes would think that they all are in shock. How sad that the money on the First nation was so unwisely spent in the first place.
