Pow Wow

What needs to happen is the members have some in put on the pow wow period , I thought every one like black river and were glad it was out side again , Having it at the seniors is not where it should be, Why cant it be at the ball park or the waterfront Rama Park . What we need to do is go back to having a traditional pow wow and i think  alot of people feel the same.It is costing way to much and i would like more of the Chippewas of Rama traditions  formerly the Chippewas of Lake Huron in simoce taught to our children. . I feel it should,nt all be about money. That's me Cheryle Snache

  1. I agree with you and have asked many of the same questions. We've already been told it cant be held at the ball park because it causes so much damage to it; the Lake front is out of the questions because they came right out and said "No" to us with no real explanation.

Anyone is welcome to be on the pow wow committee and we've always asked people to join. We do need more help. Its just a small committee that does alot of work and we need more people to help. There is nothing stoping anyone from coming out and joining the committee and helping. If you don't come, then that is your choice.

  3. Well, you lost me there. The Pow Wow has nothing to do with the water front.

  4. Just going by what you said was the reason for why it can,t be held at the Park due to damage that it may cause the water front .The water front was,nt damage at Black River is what i meant.

  5. Jus my opinion, but, who's the brain that thought it would make good sense to host at the seniors complex??
    Where do we park?
    Where will the campers camp?
Where will the vendors set up?
And what is this big news about the pow wow , and why is the community being left in the dark until a final decision has been made??
Who's making the final decision? about what??
I say if the community is to have two sites to choose from, lets be sensible and host it somewhere more green/natural, like Victoria park area, where it was supposed to be originally. Black River was gorgeous and plenty of camping!
Where is the arbour going? dancers?
In my opinion, someone is catering to the CASINO crowd, not the community or pow wow guests!
I understand that it will be great for the seniours to step outside their homes and walk into a pow wow, but really, do they want drumming and singing going on until late hours, because they have to get through the competitions?
    Just a thought...MOMMA BEAR
