All good points Shawna. The Harper Government has in the past, and I believe once again, are counting on "voter apathy"...the sheer cost of proroguing parliament is astronomical financially. Also as our members are not debating issues then we are not being represented at all over these months that the house is in forced shut down. This is especially true for those of us who did not vote conservative, and as they have only a minority government, thats quite a few of us. Canada was once a leading power in several areas to be proud of. We went from being peace keepers to being the bitch of the American government, fighting an undeclared and illegal war. We have suffered further disgrace with the breaking of the Geneva Convention with this torture scandal. Then for Harper to hide behind the non-support of the troops line is sad to say the least. BTW Support the troops is government speak for support the war...which I definitely do not!
