Rama Citizens to Join Fight Against HST at Parliament Hill

Orillia Packet & Times- Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Although I don't agree with everything the reporter included in the story, she included a quote from Dunlop who says he agrees that Natives living off reserve shouldn't be entitled to exemptions, I am pleased with
most of the story and it's good to see she did her homework before it went to print.

  1. Hi group
I read the Orillia Times report. Not to put too fine a point on it but, I and every other First nations citizen still pay property tax and income tax...all within my own unceded territory. Does that mean because I live off reserve I'm less of a citizen? I'm sure diplomats living and working in Canada do not pay any of these things, and they use a point of sale diplomat card,to insure they don't extract from these citizens from other nations around the world, so this isn't a difficult option for the government to offer this to the First Nations citizens living and working outside of their home reserves. This would only be the right thing to do, but then this is Canada....
