My Speech For Councillor Aug 14th 2114

Aniin Most of you know me My name is Cheryle Snache. L,ve raised my Children Sam and Kory in Rama and have lived here 40 yrs. I have the Sam concerns as you do for Rama,s future. I believe that as a councillor the well being of our community should be foremost in the minds of leadership while making decisions. The top priorities in our community are jobs and economic development. Creating meaningful jobs for our people through job training and job shadowing that includes management and leadership position is a must. Economic development should address long term sustainability and must be community driven. I believe we can cut wasteful spending in order to add to our Looking Far Ahead Trust in order to keep it healthy. We have so much potential here in Rama that we need to maximize. Our greatest asset and resource is our people. Our youth need our support to achieve their goals and we must take care of our seniors and their needs.I am passionate about our culture and language and preserving all aspects of our Traditional knowledge. Housing and home ownership should be accessible to all members and we need to look for ways to accomplish this. I can assure the people of Rama  that no decision will be made until the well being of our community is factored in. We are all shareholders and therefore are entitled to any and all information affecting the future and well being of our people. I want to do away with paralysing policies and implement new policies that will empower our people. Together we can achieve unity in our community. Miigwech
